50♡500 began in May 2020, when Jenny and 3-year-old Rocco found themselves alone on 500 acres. So they wrote 50 love songs. For 3 months they wrote and sang in every room; they crooned country, performed pop, warbled free jazz, and belted out blues and ballads. The result was an odd and offbeat collection of music celebrating love in all of its weirdness.
With the lyrics written and melodies mapped, they invited some friends to join them. Jazz musician Jacob McGibbon transcribed the songs to sheet music and reconstructed them into his own versions. Then Ethan Logie joined Jacob for a garage session recording with guitar, vocals and electric violin.
Next, Jonny Shatzky, Chris Henderson, Jess Coleman and Eddie Coleman came on board to create their own unique renditions.
50♡500 is a collaborative project born out of love, learning and blind ambition. We are seeking funding to press a record + produce the concept album.
